About the Pussyfoot
The Pussyfoot was created in 1920 by Robert Vermeire at the Embassy Club in London. It is named after "Pussyfoot" Johnson, an American campaigner against alcohol.
The alcohol-free family. Alcohol-free mixed drinks are as old as cocktails, from the temperance drinks of the 1800s to the Shirley Temple of the 1930s. The word "mocktail" came into wide use in the 1980s, and today's bars treat alcohol-free drinks with the same care as any cocktail.
Pussyfoot FAQ
What's in a Pussyfoot?
60 ml orange juice, 15 ml fresh lemon juice, 15 ml fresh lime juice, 10 ml grenadine, 1 egg white, garnished with orange twist.
Does a Pussyfoot contain alcohol?
No. It is completely alcohol-free, so it suits drivers, non-drinkers and anyone pacing themselves.
Should I shake or stir a Pussyfoot?
Shake it. Egg needs hard shaking to foam, and citrus, juice and cream need shaking to mix properly and gain a light, lively texture.
What glass do you serve a Pussyfoot in?
A coupe, about 180 ml. Chill the glass first and serve without ice. No coupe? Use a martini glass or small wine glass.
