About the Italian Soda

Italian sodas were popularised in San Francisco in the 1920s by the Torani family, who made flavoured syrups.

The soda fountain family. Soda fountains spread across America in the late 1800s, serving flavoured syrups mixed with carbonated water. Many famous alcohol-free drinks, like the Shirley Temple, the Roy Rogers and the Italian soda, come from that tradition: syrup, citrus and bubbles.
