Gin & Tonic

Two ingredients, one glass, no tools. The whole trick is a glass packed with ice and a cold bottle of tonic.

Built in glass · Highball · Easy · about 2 minutes · about 11% ABV

Ingredients

Method

  1. Ice the glass
  2. Pour 50 ml gin into the glass
  3. Top with 120 ml tonic water
  4. Stir once
  5. Garnish

Tip

Keep tonic in the fridge. Warm mixer melts the ice and flattens the drink.

About the Gin & Tonic

The highball family. A highball is a spirit topped with a larger amount of mixer and served tall over ice. The style spread in the 1890s, when Scotch and soda became fashionable, and where the name came from is still debated. Highballs are the easiest drinks to make well: a cold glass, plenty of ice and a fresh mixer.
