About the Cosmopolitan
Its exact origin is disputed. Cheryl Cook in Miami and Toby Cecchini in New York are both credited with versions in the 1980s. Dale DeGroff made it famous at the Rainbow Room, and the TV show Sex and the City turned it into a global icon in the late 1990s.
The daisy family. The daisy is a sour sweetened with an orange liqueur or another cordial instead of plain sugar. Daisies appear in American bar books from the 1870s. The Sidecar, the White Lady and the Margarita (Spanish for "daisy") all belong to this family, which is why their recipes look so alike.
