The tea family. Tea is the world's most-drunk beverage after water. Iced tea recipes appear in American cookbooks in the 1800s, and every tea culture has its own cold or sweet version: sweet tea in the American South, cha yen in Thailand, mint tea in Morocco and teh tarik in Malaysia.
